The Outer Tysfjord Folk Museum is situated at Korsnes in Tysfjord Municipality. Korsnes has been designated as the municipality’s millennium centre owing to the museum’s activities. The museum views as a special task the dissemination of information about the place’s historical significance, and also wishes to be a local meeting place.

The old trading post now houses an exhibition of antique artefacts and photos.

Knut Hamsun worked here for brief periods in his youth.

The museum’s collection numbers more than 1000 items, most of which relate to fishing and agriculture. Larger items include boats and farming implements.
