Tourists catch a 212 kg halibut on a rod

Over the past few years, the halibut fishing in Helnessund has been exceptional. The summer of 2009 was certainly no exception, with large catches and huge halibut recorded. The largest weighed a whopping 212 kg, which is a new world record for a halibut caught with a fishing rod. Read more

Stetind - Norway´s national mountain

Stetind at the head of the Stefjord in Tysfjord Municipality in Nordland is wrapped in legends and can be seen from at least seven parishes. Throughout history, the mountain has been a navigational marker for seafarers along the Nordland coast. Stetind was first conquered on July 30, 1910, by F. Schelderup, A. Bryn and C.W. Rubenson.
