Welcome to Helnessund – a vibrant coastal community along the world’s most beautiful coast. A Mecca for deep-sea fishermen in wonderful natural surroundings and the scene of the world record for halibut fishing when a 212 kg halibut was caught on a rod by two fishing tourists in summer 2009.

Helnessund is also a wonderful starting point for other nature-based adventures, both on land and water. We offer 20 refurbished rooms and apartments and have eight boats available for hire. We offer a central location adjacent to the Feskarkroa Café and Pub, grocery store and express boat quay. The express boat between Helnessund and Bodø takes one hour or if you are travelling to or from Lofoten the trip between Helnessund and Svolvær takes two hours.
